    Wash rice and dal and add to bowl. Add in cumin seeds, asafoetida, salt, turmeric. Pour in water and cover the cooker.

    Pressure cook this for 5 whistle and simmer it for 5 mins.

    Open the cooker and mash the rice with a potato masher (or if you want it to be smooth, blend)

  • 4

    Mix in ghee and serve
